2017 Csa Week 9 We had a lot of 'wow, that's good' moments when we were cooking the recipes this week, so if you give these recipes a try we don't believe they will disappoint. The week begin with tornado warnings and a huge storm system which delivered over 6″ of rain and now our back field is literally starting to turn into a pond on one side.

2017 Csa Week 16 You’ll notice that you’re receiving lots of zucchini in your shares this season. this is why! it will wind down soon and we have one more planting that we expect to start harvesting in about 3 weeks. storage: in an airtight (plastic) bag in the refrigerator. uses: cooked when to use: within a week. garlic – our hard neck garlic is like gold. We’re in that part of the season where the greens are still plentiful but the purples, reds, oranges, and yellows start dominating. this is my happy place—with eggplants, tomatoes, corn, and bell peppers all at their prime. the good news is we got all these beauties in this week’s csa basket. Some of you saw eggplant last week and everyone should see it this week. now that we have peppers and tomatoes too, this is the perfect time to break out the ratatouille or tian recipes.?. This week’s harvest carrots cherry tomatoes slicing tomatoes cucumbers zucchini summer squash lettuce mix fresh onions kohlrabi* radishes or salad turnips* choice of fresh herbs* *not included in wednesday shares. We’ve finally taken some time this past week to have some dinner with friends and really enjoy the abundant fresh food and the long evenings of montana in july. a special thanks to our beloved csa member in columbia falls who brought us a huge freshly caught king salmon filet from alaska.
