2017 Csa Week 8 2017 csa week 8 recipes we wanted to incorporate the great outdoors into our cooking this week so the majority of the recipes were done on the grill, though they could easily be roasted in the oven with just a bit of cooking time added. Our write up of these is brief this week as we are trying to harvest all of our garlic today despite the heavy rains we keep getting and get it cleaned, bundled and set it out for curing.
2017 Csa Week 16 New plantings of many of these vegetables are growing, but there may be shortages in the next few weeks. more sunshine & less precipitation would be a big help right now!. I was delighted to find some young red potatoes at the farmer’s market, and thought that there must be some way to bring the vegetable this week (summer squash) together with potato. It’s going to be a hot week, which our summer crops love! this week we’re excited to harvest some beautiful rainbow swiss chard, walla walla onions, the second planting of cabbage and some other delicious summer delights!.
2017 Csa Week 4 I was delighted to find some young red potatoes at the farmer’s market, and thought that there must be some way to bring the vegetable this week (summer squash) together with potato. It’s going to be a hot week, which our summer crops love! this week we’re excited to harvest some beautiful rainbow swiss chard, walla walla onions, the second planting of cabbage and some other delicious summer delights!. This week camp is all about engineering, the environment and how we are all connected. (how do humans impact the earth and how can they take better care of it? what kinds of careers exist in this area? etc.). It was a productive, yet celebratory holiday week here at the farm. we got the last planting of tomatillos, peppers, and tomatoes planted and the first planting of the fall cole crops in the ground. This week’s harvest beets cherry tomatoes slicing tomatoes cucumbers zucchini summer squash scallions* lettuce mix greenleaf lettuce *not included in wednesday shares.
