June 19th 2011 Southwest Nebraska Tornadic Supercell We sat in ft morgan, co too long as storm exploded in colorado and southwest nebraska. we tried in vain to get to the storm near mccook, only to be greeted with a rotating storm that had already produced its last tornado. Incredible supercells produced a few tornadoes in southwest nebraska, we captured one or two tornadoes on this day. nice storm over all, great chase in south.

June 19th 2011 Southwest Nebraska Tornadic Supercell The most intense activity occurred on june 20, when multiple supercell thunderstorms produced numerous tornadoes across the great plains. some of these tornadoes were large and intense, but for the most part only affected rural areas. We were confident that storms would form over northeast colorado and move toward southwest nebraska, but also fairly confident that storms would form along the warm front somewhere near the kansas nebraska border. Tornadoes continued along a corridor into south central ne with this and another supercell, and other tornadoes occurred at late afternoon with yet another supercell in central ne near york. Terrifying with these lightnings and the soft clouds rolling in. these amazing pictures of taht giant wave supercell is the result of a collision between two storm fronts on june 19, 2011 in nebraska.

June 19th 2011 Southwest Nebraska Tornadic Supercell Tornadoes continued along a corridor into south central ne with this and another supercell, and other tornadoes occurred at late afternoon with yet another supercell in central ne near york. This tornado threat extended westward into western nebraska where favorable low level wind profiles supported the potential for tornadic supercells. several dusty tornadoes occured over open farmland. farther into eastern kansas, sculpted supercells were able to break the cap by late afternoon. I knew these two days ahead, june 19th and 20th, had a good deal of potential, but even if they panned out, would i be there at the right time is always a big ass question mark. As the supercell propagated southeastward through clay county, it rapidly intensified and produced a second, much stronger, tornado. the tornado produced f3 damage to three farmsteads in rural clay county, nebraska, along a 13 km path.
