Travis Carlson Photography Blog 06 19 11 Nebraska Supercell Extravaganza The most intense activity occurred on june 20, when multiple supercell thunderstorms produced numerous tornadoes across the great plains. some of these tornadoes were large and intense, but for the most part only affected rural areas. Incredible supercells produced a few tornadoes in southwest nebraska, we captured one or two tornadoes on this day. nice storm over all, great chase in south.
June 19th 2011 Southwest Nebraska Tornadic Supercell We sat in ft morgan, co too long as storm exploded in colorado and southwest nebraska. we tried in vain to get to the storm near mccook, only to be greeted with a rotating storm that had already produced its last tornado. Along the path of this tornado, a pole building was destroyed and a home and surrounding trees sustained minor damage. the maximum wind speed of this tornado was estimated to be 120 mph.
