Csa Week 7 2021
Csa Week 7 2021 Time is flying. it’s already week 7 of the 2021 elysian fields farm csa. this week we get broccoli, beets, lacinato kale, arugula and a head of red summer crisp lettuce. It was a soup week, well, when it wasn’t pizza 😉 as usual for my “recipes” go for proportions and use spices you like. this week i had maybe a quart of chicken broth on hand in the fridge which became the basis for cutting up enough squash for the broth to barely cover.
Csa Week 8 2021 Dustyn, palmer & alex bring you this week’s update from the field. *fruit: peaches red plums yellow plums vegetable share: tomatoes green beans bell pepper summer squash carrots kale eggplant cabbage lettuce cucumber celery herbs hudson valley grown fruit and corn (ipm, not organic) photos by csa member kim!. I took the crew out and pre harvested for this week’s csa box, as well as for a wholesale order i’d planned for. to harvest cabbage, we form a catching assembly line. Normally we have them earlier in the year but all the late frost this year kept nipping our plants and setting them back a bit so it will be close on how much there is to go around this week but we will do our best as they pick up pace in growth with the recent rain.

Choice table recipes recipes for if you have leftover veggies from the previous weeks sugar snap peas with yogurt, feta, and dill roasted broccoli and kale with lemon pasta broccoli cheese bake broccoli with parsley butter ramen noodle cabbage stir fry turnip and garlic scape pizza garlic scape aioli garlic scape pesto and green goddess pesto pasta. It will be great to see everyone out on the farm and meet all of the csa members i have not been able to meet yet. i am not sure what i am going to prepare yet, but you can bet that it will include some farm veg. with cooler weather coming in, i have started to get ready for soup season. One of the benefits of our csa is that we harvest everything the day of or the day before you get it, so if you keep everything cool and humid, produce items should last a week or two. this is especially true for lettuce, of which you received two different heads this week.
