Csa Week 7 2016 The past week has been extremely stressful as we watched and waited for rain that never came. several possibilities fizzled out or dropped their rain in new hampshire or connecticut. We will be planting a lot for the fall season over the next few weeks. this week i planted french filet beans, blue pole beans, carrots, mustard greens, and a braising mix. cabbage is back for bi weekly members so here are two simple ways to prepare it quickly.
Csa 2016 Week 7 I saved my fava beans from week 6 so i’ll be using those with the ones i get this week; i’m thinking some sort of dip or soup is in order. but it’s hot, it’s been really hot. Finally, a shout out to friend and fellow csa member, jennifer, who happened to get one of the surprise tomatoes in her share and graciously gave it to me after i squealed in delight at seeing it in her bag. sustainable harvest farm has made me a tomato snob. Peppers – a mix of the earliest peppers in the garden – only the dark purple czech black and the jalapenos (you will probably recognize them, although some are on the massive side for their type) are hot this week.
