I have a couple of longer updates and posts in my draft form, but i can’t seem to get them finished, so wanted to give you a quick update on how round 3 of chemo went.
Chemo Round 3 Tears In Our Chili Today, tuesday the 15th, we are back for the shorter infusion. we scored a corner room that was private so she took a nice nap. we have the third infusion tomorrow then we brace for the weekend when the chemo takes it’s toll and crashes her wbc (white blood count). prayer this week, please. Tuesday was my third traditional chemo (rituxan) infusion. i continue to take my daily capsule of revlimid. i’ve have had one bad day and a few hours here and there or typical low grade side effects. but the real reason to post this morning was my oncologist’s assessment of my progress. Hi all round 3 went well with few side effects. had a few hiccups on round 2 as hb level dropped and had back spasms so they had to give me another infusion. but all good now and pain seems to have lessened! hopefully ….

It’s been nearly three weeks since my third round of chemo, and today is the first day i have felt almost normal since. at the risk of sounding cliché…i am sick and tired of being sick and tired. every day since my third treatment, i have been more tired and weak than ever before. My psa continued to drop with each infusion until it reached undetectable levels (below 0.1) after the third or fourth. but everyone is different. he should complete the infusions and let his physicians recommend further steps after that. Chemo round 3 was yesterday. it was originally scheduled for thursday, but my labs earlier in the week showed that my white blood cell count was too low, so we had to postpone until saturday when it got a little higher and my immune system was stronger.
