I'm not a midlevel and i refuse to see midlevels for most issues. i've been stable on my psych meds for awhile though so i do see a pmhnp for the time being to avoid wait times. i'm only asking this because as a patient, i feel like primary care is the worst place for a midlevel to be.

Why not spend your time, energy, and money on applying to medical school instead so you can eventually become a real doctor? examples of midlevels engaging in the unethical (and in some cases illegal) practice of misrepresenting themselves as doctors. So i quite literally travel 2 hours to see my do pcp. but i can imagine those not willing to travel, especially when you know more than the noctor you're dealing with and just need them to comply with whatever you're asking for since that's what np's specialize in. What really attracts people to become an np or pa over a doctor is the barrier to entry, costs, and work life balance. so if we don’t want more nps and pas, what can be done to attract more people to become doctors instead? ps: please don’t downvote anyone!. For the record, i am a nurse and only a few credits shy of being an np, so i think i'm qualified to discuss shortcomings in np education. the np educational foundation is nursing, not medicine. the np practice is firmly rooted in medicine. those two truths cannot coexist peacefully.
