2026 Georgia Legislative Internship Program Georgia general assembly, is one of the largest state legislatures in the nation. the general assembly consists of two chambers, the house of representatives and the senate. Open to students of all majors, the program places interns with state legislators, legislative committees, and staff members, offering a firsthand look at the inner workings of state government and offering a unique perspective on how policy is crafted, negotiated, and passed.
Georgia Legislative Internship Program External Affairs Every spring semester, around 35 junior and senior students from georgia's public and private universities and colleges intern with the georgia general assembly. these students gain first hand experience in the lawmaking process through the georgia legislative internship program (glip). Offered only in the spring, the georgia legislative internship program is an opportunity to meet state lawmakers and experience the legislative process firsthand while working full time in offices in and around the state capitol. Discover the georgia legislative internship program (glip) —an immersive opportunity to work directly with state lawmakers, gain real world experience in public policy, and earn academic credit during the legislative session. Spend a semester at the georgia state capitol! the georgia legislative intern program (glip) is a full time paid internship that lets students gain hands on experience during the legislative session with government leaders. the session takes place from january to april each year.
