2017 Remote Start Subaru Outback Forums We've had ours about 3 years, and obviously have only ever used the dedicated remote start fob. it gets used twice a day and has worked 100% of the time without fail. As the title states i own a 2017 outback and i want to a remote starter. anyone have any recommendations as to if i should get this done through the dealership or another place like best buy or car toys.

I am interested in installing a starter for my 2017 outback. i have been looking to get a back up fob for my keyless start car but realized if i have a remote starter put in i'll end up with at least two keys anyway. Purchased a 2017 outback 6 months ago for a great price. did not come with a remote start so the dealership put one on which i "thought" could be set for several time periods so i could leave my dog in the car on hot days. When we brought our2017 subaru outback in because our battery died, our dealer told us our viper remote start that was installed in 2018 needed to be removed because it is interfering with the electrical system and draining our battery.
