2014 Csa Share Week 21
2014 Csa Share Week 21 Welcome to the 21st week of the 2014 pitchfork & crow summer csa! here’s what’s in the share:. This is the diary of our 2014 csa share. the cost of our full share is $545 for 22 weeks (this csa offers a winter share) which will bring us to the last week in october, and works out to $24.75 per week.
2014 Csa Share Week 2 Notes on the share thanks to everyone who came out to the farm on sunday! it was a spectacular day and we really enjoyed seeing so many of you! this week's share is heavy on the greens! i got a phone call from a member about a month ago who was inquiring about the lac. I am going to miss the weekly trek to the csa and the bounty of fresh veggies. it is going to take some focused attention when i go grocery shopping next week to buy a similar range of vegetables in the produce section of the grocery store; the csa has broadened my palate. This week the shares have dandelion greens, broccoli, onions, butternut squash, bell pepper, hot peppers, carrots, and fuji apples. large shares also have swiss chard, spinach, green beans, and kirby cucumbers. When the csa shares first started back in june, i always tried to have both crispers pretty empty when i picked up the weekly share. it didn’t work this week because i was away for too much of the week.

Thinking about signing up for a csa but want to learn more about the idea before you commit? read on. We might be thinking that our sweet potatoes would be ready soon, as they take the entire season to grow, and “soon” meant just a few more weeks. as we saw the chef maybe only once a week, he or she had many shifts in the kitchen, prepared many plates, and handled lots of produce between our visits to the back door. Week #21 oct 30 1 oak leaf lettuce, 1 bunch carrots, 1 bunch broccoli, 1 bunch spinach choice: arugula or tatsoi, choice: fennel or celery, 3 yellow onions, 3 lbs red potatoes, 2 lbs white sweet potatoes, 2 small eggplant, 2 winter squash, 1 herb, extra: hot peppers, pumpkins, fruit: stayman apples. We have had an excellent season and we believe that csa members should feel the benefits of that. a good investment gets you a good return, and that is what you have received this year through your support of big train farm’s csa.
