2014 Csa Share Week 13 This is the diary of our 2014 csa share. the cost of our full share is $545 for 22 weeks (this csa offers a winter share) which will bring us to the last week in october, and works out to $24.75 per week. Send me your favorite eggplant dish recipes so i can share them with the membership! i feel like once you’ve had an amazing eggplant dish, you’re a convert for life!.

2014 Csa Share Week 2 It’s a closed group for members of the farm, so join up and feel free to post any tasty recipes, helpful tips, and inspirational photos of how you’re making use of your share of the harvest each week. There are just a few weeks left of our fabulous csa from sustainable harvest farm and i've been so grateful for all the hard work ford, amanda and finley have been putting into providing us with their beautiful abundance of fresh, healthy food. in shares this week how long will it last?. The summer is flying by. school starts in a week. already we have lost one of our students, and the rest are finished work soon. that will leave only a few of us to do all the work of picking, packing & marketing the fruit & vegetables. but in the orchard, it looks like fall…. You will be sure to receive many for fall and winter storage in your shares! we topped most of our shallots this week but harvested many more with the ian’s crew as well, we will start distributing those in a week or so.

2014 Csa Share Week 12 The summer is flying by. school starts in a week. already we have lost one of our students, and the rest are finished work soon. that will leave only a few of us to do all the work of picking, packing & marketing the fruit & vegetables. but in the orchard, it looks like fall…. You will be sure to receive many for fall and winter storage in your shares! we topped most of our shallots this week but harvested many more with the ian’s crew as well, we will start distributing those in a week or so. We have had an excellent season and we believe that csa members should feel the benefits of that. a good investment gets you a good return, and that is what you have received this year through your support of big train farm’s csa. I'm excited about this week's share as it highlights the beauty of what we call the "shoulder seasons" in farming, aka spring and fall. this time of year is special for many reasons, and the variety of vegetables we harvest is one of them. Lucky week 13! this week we hope to bring to csa regular share carrots zucchini cucumbers choice: arugula or beets or squash blossoms choice: kale or collards or chard choice: celery or leeks herb choice: basil or parsley or sage or chives or mint large share additions extra choice: arugula or beets or squash blossoms…. Simply roasted root vegetables (like the beets you got this week) are a delight, but don’t forget about the leafy greens attached to these earthy treasures. the greens from beets, radishes, and turnips are all tasty and full of nutrients.
