2014 Csa Share Week 17 This is the diary of our 2014 csa share. the cost of our full share is $545 for 22 weeks (this csa offers a winter share) which will bring us to the last week in october, and works out to $24.75 per week. Week #17 oct 2 2 heads green leaf lettuce, 1 green cabbage, 1 bunch beets, 1 bunch spinach, choice: kale or swiss chard, 3 garlic, 3 lb red skin potatoes, 4 peppers, 2 eggplant, 1 lb tomatoes, 1 heirloom tomato, 2 delicata squash, 1 herb (dill or cilantro) extra: tomatillos, hot peppers, fruit: plums, cortland apples.

We did wash the spinach, but we picked it on monday after some heavy rains over the weekend. heavy rains mean more soil splashed up and into the cracks of the savoyed (crinkly) leaves. This week the shares have sweet potatoes, peppers (bell and or cubanelles), green beans or lima beans, scallions or radishes, bok choy, sorrel or kale, and italian plums. The csa week 16 produce was packed in ice chests and taken with us on a trek to newport ri where we have been tourists this week. we knew we would have a kitchen so planned meals around the veggies.

The csa week 16 produce was packed in ice chests and taken with us on a trek to newport ri where we have been tourists this week. we knew we would have a kitchen so planned meals around the veggies. It’s been a fun summer and i’ve really enjoyed sharing it with each of you! there are still two more weeks of devliery and i don’t know about you, but i’m really dreading the fact i’m actually going to have to start going to the grocery store once a week again!. Marble valley farm offers csa shares for the 2014 season that provide weekly fresh produce from june through october. shareholders can choose between a tuesday share pickup or weekend debit share. the tuesday share costs $550 and provides $700 worth of produce, with pickup times on tuesdays. This week it was an asian inspired salad that paired the squash segments with thinly sliced fennel, chopped peppers from my csa box, and some grilled rib eye steak that had been tossed in sweet heat gourmet’s asian bulgogi barbecue sauce.
