2014 Csa Share Week 20 Welcome to the 20th week of the 2014 pitchfork & crow summer csa! here’s what’s in the share:. This is the diary of our 2014 csa share. the cost of our full share is $545 for 22 weeks (this csa offers a winter share) which will bring us to the last week in october, and works out to $24.75 per week.
2014 Csa Share Week 2 Notes on the share the weather forecast for sunday is perfect, so come on out to the farm and enjoy a beautiful fall day with us! csa harvest festival sunday, october 19th from 11am 3pm this is a private event open to all current csa members and their guests only. please wear st. This week the shares have dandelion greens, broccoli, onions, butternut squash, bell pepper, hot peppers, carrots, and fuji apples. large shares also have swiss chard, spinach, green beans, and kirby cucumbers. We have had an excellent season and we believe that csa members should feel the benefits of that. a good investment gets you a good return, and that is what you have received this year through your support of big train farm’s csa. This week’s egg shares will have a few “pullet” eggs. the older hens who’ve been laying the x large and jumbo eggs are decreasing their production and the “new girls” are just revving up production.
2014 Csa Share Week 12 We have had an excellent season and we believe that csa members should feel the benefits of that. a good investment gets you a good return, and that is what you have received this year through your support of big train farm’s csa. This week’s egg shares will have a few “pullet” eggs. the older hens who’ve been laying the x large and jumbo eggs are decreasing their production and the “new girls” are just revving up production. While it’s an off week for beets, we’re willing to be most of our csa members have them around! also enjoy a roasted root vegetable salad and an easy soup recipe. This year, we offer 65 full shares at $34 per week ($680 per share), enough for about 3 to 4 people, delivered over 20 weeks—may 22 through october 2, 2014. members pick up their share thursday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. at hurkamp park in downtown fredericksburg. As a member of the csa, i will receive a weekly or biweekly share of produce and eggs for 16 or 8 weeks, depending on share option, beginning the week june 30, 2014. Week #20 oct 23 1 red romaine, 1 radicchio, 1 bunch broccoli, 1 bunch arugula, 1 bunch radishes, 3 red onions, 3 lb yukon gold potatoes, 2 lb sweet potatoes, 3 peppers, 2 eggplant, 1 buttercup squash, 3 ornamental pumpkins, 1 herb extra: small sweet potatoes fruit: empire apples, pears.
