The young writers collective was a writing group for young people aged 18 – 30 and living in south east london. the programme was active between october and april.
Young Writers Collective Our mission here is to support you in your writing journey. whether you’re a first time writer who jots things down on napkins, someone who’s had multiple original works produced, or both— we want to encourage you to have conversations and collaborate with fellow young writers everywhere. In this workshop group, students respond to prompts every week, read out their work and give each other feedback. there is a focus on developing the craft of writing, learning new ideas and techniques, and exploring all kinds of writing in a fun and supportive way. To combat the decline in reading & writing prevalence in the youth and lack of creative writing content in school curriculums, the collective aims at re instilling a passion and purpose through engaging workshops, self publishing consulting, and competitive opportunities.
