Why Do Bots Play So Poorly Chess Forums Chess It's all part of an elaborate plan to stroke our egos and ensure that we never doubt our intellectual superiority. so, rejoice! bots play poorly simply to remind us of our infinite greatness in the realm of chess. Do the chess bots seem weaker than their rating to you? so, i got back into the game in january. i have an old account rated 756. i spend an hour a day doing puzzles (rated 1850 on puzzles) and then i play three or five timed games against the 1200 rated bots.

I've recently started playing chess again and am training against the chess bots. i've been able to blaze through the lower rated bots and started to get stuck around the 1100s with having to take time with my games to get past them and recently beat a 1500 bot.

When you're slightly stronger, try to beat the bots that play badly. if you can easily beat a bot, you shouldn't be playing it because you will larn nothing from it. They can play for many moves at a relatively strong level and then suddenly throw out a completely awful move. computer bot ratings aren't set through playing millions of rated games against real players. Playing bots can be helpful, but just keep in mind computers play differently than humans, so there are some limitations. to get the most out of bot play, think of what it is you're trying to work on.
