Cise Columbus Institute For Social Empowerment Cise fosters cooperation and synergies among all eu eea public authorities responsible for maritime surveillance including civil and military, regional sectoral organisations, and eu agencies. However, the costs of implementing cise depend on various factors, such as how each member state chooses to organise its information sharing, the number of information services provided, and the range of existing and planned it systems.
Cise Columbus Institute For Social Empowerment Eric turquet de beauregard stressed that “all the work that has been done in two years has proven that cise is now operational, that it is useful in any type of operation…, reflects the fact that military and civilian authorities can benefit from cise. Cise seeks to further enhance and promote information sharing between authorities from seven different sectors (maritime safety and security, fisheries control, border control, law enforcement, customs, defence, and marine environment), involved in maritime surveillance. National authorities involved in maritime transport safety, fisheries control, pollution response, marine environment protection, customs, border control, law enforcement, and defence benefit from cise. Integrated maritime surveillance is about providing authorities interested or active in maritime surveillance with ways to exchange information and data. sharing data will make surveillance cheaper and more effective.
