This workshop will focus on the basics of seed starting and local gardening, with participants planting seeds to take home and grow. there will also be opportunities to ask questions, share gardening tips, and learn more about locally tested gardening practices suited to our region. Wildsight elk valley is hosting a seed saving workshop in fernie on thursday, august 17 at the fernie community ecogarden at 1301 13th st. fernie. the event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Here, participants will be introduced to the seed library and learn about; the difference between annuals and biennials, saving dry wet seeds, when fermentation is needed and proper storage techniques.
