When you hear certain songs, very specific scenes appear, right? start collecting those, and then pare them down as you come up with the one that best fits that time in your life. i’ve created mine on spotify. it’s not a list of my favorite songs. many of these are not what i would usually choose to listen to. Dancing may be my main passion, but shooting houses, the complete opposite spectrum photographically, is an exciting change of pace. instead of watching for moments and paying attention to the music, i’m getting it all right before i open the shutter. It’s a thrill to watch the same passion in my kids now. i’ve watched my three children change and go through fascinating phases. without my camera, many of those would be lost. as important as a recital and those expensive (itchy) costumes are, they aren’t the only thing we want to remember each year. dance still makes me come alive.
