Yes, it is too low. it needs to be above the fireplace. the tv is designed for being at an height , equal or level with your ears when sat , watching and listening. i had gotten one of those and put it on top of my dresser. i felt like i had discovered the wheel with that idea. i’d like to see this over a fire place. First time i was installing tv on the wall, i was amazed too how low the tv actually should be placed. wasn’t dissapointed, though. too high? yeah if you sat on the floor! the photo is me laying back on my couch from the side. picture taken is from chest level. my head is a bit higher. *everyone who commented has a tv above fireplace height. it's the correct height, not great position. it’s the perfect height but you need to add in the media center again. having it on the wall makes it improperly angled. r tvmisaligned. Rule of thumb is center of tv at eye level (when sat in your normal viewing position). the main reason is that looking up is bad for your neck. on the other hand looking down isn't problematic for your neck, so if have the tv center a bit below eye level that's fine. although if you have recliners, your feet may get in the way.
