Project Areas Fishadapt Project During nation wide consultations with stakeholders, it was agreed that the project field and community level work would be implemented in the geographic coverage of 120 communities in yangon, ayeyarwaddy and rakhine state. To enable inland and coastal fishery and aquaculture stakeholders to adapt to climate change by understanding and reducing vulnerabilities, piloting new practices and technologies, and sharing information.
Tool Use In Fish Supported by the food and agriculture organization of the united nations (fao) and the green climate fund (gcf), the project aims to build resilience among fishers and coastal communities who face increasing climate related risks. While developing the p2p platform, the fishadapt team found that 70 percent of mobile phone users in the target communities were using smart phones, and 50 percent of users had a memory (sd) card slot in their devices. Key areas addressed include stakeholder engagement, grievance redress mechanisms, and adherence to national and international environmental and social commitments. the plan ensures that project activities align with fao’s exclusion list and best practices for inclusive, sustainable development. The project’s objective is to assist the government to enable inland and coastal fishery and aquaculture stakeholders to adapt to climate change by understanding and reducing vulnerabilities, piloting new practices and technologies, and sharing information. The project capacity development strategy is developed and validated with department of fisheries. project capacity development initiatives for each of the lead areas are planned at all levels; state, region and union.
