Library Partners With Gis Facility For Nov 20 Gis Day Celebration Iowa state university librarians and isu geographic information systems support and research facility staff plan an event that will feature professional speakers from diverse fields, speaking on topics related to gis and geospatial sciences. Gis day is a world wide annual event which occurs in mid november during geography awareness week, celebrating geographic information systems technology and its use in the world. the library of congress has celebrated gis day since its inception in 1999.
Gis Day Is On Wednesday November 19 2025 Gis Geography For the first time, wsu libraries team up with the university of idaho library to host gis day 2025 on wednesday, nov. 19, at the ui student union building’s clearwater room and over zoom. The celebration will take place in room 160, snell library, dedicated by the library for this occasion. the global resilience institute is generously providing funding for refreshments, and the nulab is sponsoring the storymap competition prizes. The libraries is partnering with the voinovich school of leadership and public service, facilities management and the geography department to host a day of networking and learning on tuesday, nov. 18. The isu library and gis facility will host gis day on wednesday, november 19, 2025. the event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon in the catalyst, room 199, parks library.
