My wife has asked me this a few times and i can’t seem to answer her one of the main reasons. i collect and read comics because the characters feel like friends that have never left me or stopped talking to me because i’m not useful anymore to them. Read the comics that are fun for you, not the “hot” comics. i read all the marvel and dc books as a kid. i’d read them carefully and then bag and catalog them. then i discovered comic conventions where you get exposed to many things you wouldn’t otherwise. However, here are a couple of interesting follow ups which actually (sort of) make my original point (wherein i lament about the price i paid) kind of, well, true.
