Authentic Learning What Is It Children learn best when they are given ample opportunities to interact with people, objects, and their surroundings in contexts that are real, relevant, and meaningful to them. The implementation of authentic learning in classroom for making the knowledge received by students in classrooms consistent with the learning situation of real world, is discussed.
About Authentic Learning Authentic Authentic learning is an instructional approach that often situates learning in a context akin to the real world. authenticity in learning occurs through the dynamic interactions between the learner, the task, and the environment where the learning occurs (barab et al., 2000). Authentic learning describes learning activities that are either carried out in real world contexts, or have high transfer to a real world setting. authentic learning activities should have both personal and cultural relevance (stein, isaacs, & andrews, 2004). This video illustrates the iteach principle, authentic learning through quality interactions, in action in the classroom. This special issue brings together different strands of research that all focus on investigating the role of authenticity in learning, but that have been conducted in parallel and have not been linked together.

In this way learners practice skills and knowledge that are relevant and real to workplace situations and learn it at the same time. authentic learning activities include role playing exercises, problem based activities, case studies, and participation in virtual communities of practice.
