I have tried with and without the pop filter, and i'm wondering, is this waveform supposed to peak beyond 0.3 on the graph? because mine as you can see does, and it bothers me as i've seen people recording 'level' audio at 0.7.

I'm editing a play together and for some reason my audacity display now has suddenly banded all the waveform so that from 0.5 to 0.5 is dark and from 1 to 0.5 and from 0.5 to 1.0 is light. I do not think audacity currently supports asio, unless you have compiled it from source. Look for an microphone symbol with a horizontal line and dot. drag that dot all the way to the right if it's not already. restarting your pc probably won't do anything if it's an audacity issue.
