2023 Daily Advent Devotional Day 19 Don’t read over that passage too quickly – he didn’t wait until the next day; he woke his family up in the middle of the night and left right away. the magi story in matthew 2 is part of a larger sequence that involves danger for the newborn child and his parents. God has spoken throughout history. god has spoken in various ways. but “in these last days,” jesus is the definitive word. why? as the beginning and ending of god’s story, this son reveals god’s character. if we want to know who god is, we must look no further than jesus. when jesus touches the outcast leper, we see god. Luke 1:39 45 “ in those days mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in judah, 40 and she entered the house of zechariah and greeted elizabeth. 41 and when elizabeth heard the greeting of mary, the baby leaped in her womb.
