Forest school explores the outdoors and the natural environment with practical, useful activities all year round. it develops peer learning with the adults providing support and enabling activities to take place. the child’s interest will be at the heart of any activity. To be able to move and position wood safely. to understand what type of wood is needed to create a shelter. to understand how dens can be used to keep us sheltered from rain and wind. to understand that you can attach wool to an object. to wind wool or string around an object. to begin to use lashings independently to fix two sticks together. The children in year 4 had lots of fun during their time in the forest school. the children created a team flag using mud paint, played lots of games including disappearing ninjas, which proved to be a favourite, and learnt lots of new skills.
