Rn Well Being Project The program achieved significant measurable improvements in staff well being, reducing average stress scores from 3.49 (moderate to high) to 1.93 (mild to no stress) and maintaining turnover rates of 5.3% and 7.1% in acute care and surgical units, respectively, during fiscal year 2024. While it is customary to investigate and report on the implementation of evidence based healthcare practice for patient care, this project provides a novel perspective on how to integrate well being programming for professional caregivers, such as nurses and unit nurse leaders. Workplace well being & safety infrastructure build healthy workplace structures through accessible resources, tools, and environments where seeking help is encouraged and supported by the organization. In an effort to rethink this approach, the rn well being project, led by the oregon center for nursing (ocn), began a statewide initiative focused on identifying and addressing the root causes of nurse burnout, emotional strain, and workforce instability.
