Summer Csa Week 4 Rainshadow You can’t deny it’s winter when you wake up to frost blanketing the world and temps in the low 30s or even 20s. plus there’s no sense in rushing outside in the morning if everything is frozen. There is not a csa pickup this week, but it's time to customize your next box if you'd like to! you still have until the morning of monday, dec 1st at 7am to make any changes, so no hurry! any item with a number 1, 2 etc, is in your box for the week. items with a 0 by them are not in your box.

Winter Csa Week 4 Frog Song Organics Organic Farm Central Florida As nice as it is to not have to work in extreme cold or deep snow, it is not actually good for the winter growth on our plants. they do not get used to the very cold temps so we continue to add more coverings to keep them from freezing too hard. This week we’re featuring okinawa sweet potato w coconut milk, bok choy salad with sesame almond crunch, and golden relish. okinawa sweet potatoes (hawaiian purple potatoes with coconut milk). This week we’ll have more greens for you lettuce, arugula, chard, and collards. we’ll also have winter radishes again! slice them thin to put on a salad or sandwich, or try pickling or roasting them. they’re perfect for adding some extra crunch and color to a dish. here is what we hope to bring you during week 4: loading. We strategized our harvesting efforts last week to account for the freezing temps. this week, that meant harvesting all of the crops not in greenhouses in the cold, cold rain on monday. How to store: new potatoes aren’t fully cured so use them up within a couple weeks. store in the fridge to preserve their tender skin or in a cool, dark, well ventilated space. 🥕 week 4 winter csa is here! 🥦 we’re excited to share what’s heading your way this week! boxes are packed with cozy winter staples and a little burst of. I'm not looking forward to the upcoming csa delivery day. the weatherman is predicting subzero temps in the morning, but at least we will be inside with 40 degree temps while packing.
