Wildfire Resiliency Project Parks And Recreation The parks and recreation department and fire department have partnered to improve the community’s fire resilience and reduce the risk and severity of wildfires in the city's open space parks. A bold paradigm shift is needed to change the trajectory of the wildland fire crisis the nation faces. effectively building resilience to inevitable wildfires will require close partnerships across both the public and private sectors to restore forests at a scale not previously contemplated.
