Wildfire Resilience Collaborative Of Santa Barbara County The plan was initiated in 2020 through a highly collaborative process that resulted in the identification, prioritization and categorization of wildfire risk mitigation projects for the region of santa barbara county. With funding from the california coastal conservancy, the wildfire resilience collaborative was formed to advance rpp conceptual stage projects to the implementation stage through further project and partnership development and planning.
Wildfire Resilience Collaborative Of Santa Barbara County The collaborative seeks to protect and enhance communities, natural resources, and habitats by building capacity, strengthening and expanding wildfire preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. this includes advancing projects that restore our natural ecosystems that help reduce fire risks. Wildfires pose a significant threat to santa barbara year round. the parks and recreation department and fire department have partnered to improve the community’s fire resilience and reduce the risk and severity of wildfires. The regional wildfire mitigation program takes a holistic approach to wildfire mitigation by developing solutions across three primary resilience domains: landscape, built environment and community. Wildfire affects every person and every sector in our community; the scale and complexity of this problem requires every one of us to take action to advance our region’s resilience. we must learn to adapt and develop new strategies for learning and working together.
