Why Project Rewild

The Rewild Project
The Rewild Project

The Rewild Project Re:wild helps species and ecosystems recover and thrive. explore how re:wild cultivates conservation leaders, strengthens local and indigenous partners, and supports the rangers and youth shaping a resilient future for our planet. a wilder future is possible—but only if we take action now. Rewilding is a way to help nature to thrive. rewilders understand how ecosystems have been damaged and they are proactive in finding ways to help nature to thrive again.

Rewild Structure The Rewild Project Rewilding offers hope and the opportunity to give nature (and us) a fighting chance – bringing it back to life, saving wildlife, tackling climate breakdown, and benefiting people and communities. In this module you will learn about the main concepts and principles of rewilding and how they serve as a holistic approach to ecological restoration. you will explore what sets rewilding apart from other restoration and conservation approaches, highlighting its unique benefits and applications. Rewilding is about giving nature the space and freedom to heal itself. it’s a conservation approach that focuses on restoring ecosystems to their natural state, allowing wildlife and natural processes to thrive without human interference. Rewilding aims to restore healthy ecosystems by creating wild, biodiverse spaces. it rebuilds ecosystems that have previously been modified by human disturbance, using the plant and animal life that would have been present had the disturbance never occurred.

Rewilding can help combat climate change, restore lost species, repair degraded land and make habitats more resilient to extreme weather, experts say. Explore how rewilding projects restore ecosystems, support wildlife conservation, and offer a bold response to biodiversity loss and climate change. Rewilding isn’t about locking people out of nature—it’s about changing how we relate to it. when done well, it supports local communities through ecotourism, sustainable jobs, and increased resilience to climate related risks. In this paper, we show how social science perspectives can be applied by asking five questions about five rewilding projects. these case studies were chosen to represent projects at different stages of implementation and across various locations.
