Weft Colours Cally Booker I wove a few metres with the wefts shown in my earlier post, then tried a bit of orange… …and finally a bit of blue, keeping the grey throughout. i love all these combinations, but it is time for a new warp. and, amazingly, the website move is accomplished with almost no effort on my part. I have become completely addicted to this 30 2 nm silk. the colour is called “gunmetal” and it goes with everything. i used it in the previous crinkly scarf and then again in this — another — crinkly scarf. the first … read more sampling, scarves, weft choices. In an effort to be more brave about color, i'm trying some oddball (to me) color combinations in some small sprang and woven art pieces, just to see what happens with color blending and contrast. these are a series similar in structure to some of the doubleweave i had done a couple years ago. Two wefts per piece, alternating blocks in the warp. the first pair were teal and violet. i reckon that’s the most accurate photo. then violet and blue. the teal again, two shades thereof. this is probably the least satisfactory photo. “ many wefts ” was posted by cally on 4 oct 2015 at callybooker.co.uk double weave, huck lace.
