Covid 19 Lessons Learned And Lessons For The Future This special issue aims to provide coherent and comprehensive insights on lessons learned from the covid 19 response, which will support policymakers while they prepare for future outbreaks but also for other health system shocks that affect the supply and demand of health services. On 2 march 2021, in the framework of the strategic action plan on human rights and technologies in biomedicine (2020 2025), the council of europe’s committee on bioethics (dh bio) held a webinar on covid 19 and public debate lessons learned and preparedness. Lessons learnt from the covid 19 pandemic related to three main themes: 1) setting policy; 2) delivering public health interventions; and 3) providing effective communication. Given the enormous impact of this pandemic on virtually every aspect of global society, it is critical that we reflect on the lessons we have learned (or should have learned) over the past 3 years.

Given the enormous impact of this pandemic on virtually every aspect of global society, it is critical that we reflect on the lessons we have learned (or should have learned) over the past 3 years. Through this consultation, participating experts from different disciplines provided critical insights and lessons learnt from over 20 months of the covid 19 pandemic response in the south east asia region. In this special issue, a variety of research articles, reviews, and perspectives that cover different aspects related to pandemic preparedness and lessons learned from the covid 19 pandemic will be considered. Five years ago, the covid 19 pandemic swept through the united states, overwhelming healthcare systems, upending lives, and exposing critical gaps in our preparedness for public health crises. It has been nearly five years since we faced one of the greatest public health emergencies of our generation: the covid 19 pandemic. but as we have transitioned out of the covid 19 emergency, we must remember that this is not the only disease threat facing our nation.
