Local service users are co production partners in maternity neonatal quality and transformation: the voices of neonatal parents can be heard through either an mvp or pag (parent advisory group). This webinar explores how we can make sure that parents from black and minority ethnic groups feel welcome and able to get involved in their maternity voices. This project highlighted the voices of women whose experiences of maternity care aren’t currently heard, and who are at risk of worse outcomes in maternity care due to inequalities.
Worcestershire Maternity Voices Partnership Home This webinar explores how we can make sure that parents from black and minority ethnic groups feel welcome and able to get involved in their maternity voices. This project highlighted the voices of women whose experiences of maternity care aren’t currently heard, and who are at risk of worse outcomes in maternity care due to inequalities. We seek out the voices of those who have recently used or are currently using local maternity services and look for themes in the feedback. we then work together to change and improve care to ensure maternity services are centred around the people using them and meeting their needs. What is a maternity voices partnership (mvp)? a team of people who use maternity services, along with midwives, obstetricians and commissioners, working together to review, co design and co produce local maternity services. So what are maternity voices partnerships ? maternity voices partnerships are “independent formal multidisciplinary committees” which bring people together “to influence and share in local decisions” about maternity services. What we do? at the mnvp, our mission is to amplify the voices of women and families, ensuring their insights and experiences help shape and improve maternity and neonatal services. we believe that collaboration and open dialogue are essential to creating supportive and effective care systems.
