Wastegate Problem Fix Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums What typically happens is the unison ring inside the turbo seizes up inside the housing due to excessive carbon buildup, and or rust and corrosion, causing an overboost underboost condition. in your case, i would start by replacing the rubber cac hose that keeps blowing off first. I'm new to this forum in part because i am chasing a good part number for the wastegate solenoid valve. not quite sure why but i'm having trouble finding the motorcraft part number, which based on this thread seems like the way to go as opposed to the aftermarket stuff. It’s a loud rattle that i imagine to be coming from the wastegate. if i let off the throttle, it will quit & i can get back into it to regain speed but i have to do that several times in a row.
