Washing Mini Twist Artofit Hi lovelies! today is finally wash day for our mini twists! i'll show you my shampoo & deep conditioning routine, plus how to moisturize and refresh some of our twists. I’ve never really liked mini twists on me before now, but something about this process made me fall in love with the style. it’s been so perfect for the weather in guam, over time they’ve shrunken slightly but not at all how much i thought they would.

Generally i would not recommend untwisting washed mini twist without the use of a lubricant such as olive oil. this helps to alleviate some of the tangling that will be as a result of shed hair and plain ol tangling. I made the fatal mistake of washing them as i would my mini braids and that caused unbelievable tangling and knots when taking them down. as a result, i generally don’t recommend washing mini twists weekly as you would any other protective style. In this video, i'll show you a gentle, effective wash routine that keeps your twists looking fresh while cleansing and treating your scalp. If possible, i would clean your scalp using witch hazel rather than full on wash every couple days. if not, wash once a week or every two weeks. braid and band your hair in about 6 8 braids first before you wash to minimize tangling at the roots.
