War Won T Freaking End R Hoi4 The war in ethiopia escalated to where you have to defeat the allies to end the war. don’t fret though, use this as an opportunity to mine the waters around the isles and prepare for a naval invasion. Everything has been ok so far. however i'm running into something i don't quite understand. previously when an enemy capitulates i would immediately get the end war screen. this time i attacked panama, and it capitulated after a day or two. however i didn't immediately get the screen.

During the three way west african war, when i help the fma win the war by having cameroon not control their required region until cameroon's timer runs out, the war ends. I've had something similar happen with france in one of my recent playthroughs as japan and i haven't found the reason or solution yet. in my game, france had capitulated long ago and became free france. Now i'm just stuck with no way of winning or losing and it's really annoying. is there any way to negotiate a peace treaty or do i just have to wait for the other people they're fighting to get them?.

Click on the world tension %. and look at the ongoing wars. they likely are a part of a different war, and you'll need to wait until that war is over. or justify and declare on the other faction members. which is likely why they aren't going to war with you directly. The ethiopian government can escape to london and drag the allies into the war. they won't declare war on italy but the war won't end because they are technically involved. I had this problem once (wasn't a civil war though) just exiting out of the game and loading it back up worked for me. You're trapped in the one special kind of war there is in the game. ethiopia took a focus making them a government in exile, so the war won't end on its own unless the brits get tired of them (due to foreign influence and low legitimacy) and force them to peace out of it.
