Voxel Smoothing Experiment I am now thinking to make a simple voxel editor, to incorporate in microstudio, with which you could create pure voxel models, but also stylish low poly models, thanks to a materials system close to what svox is doing. They're using this technique to try to make a water tight version of an input mesh. so first they voxelize the mesh, form the water tight outer surface of the voxels, then want to project the voxel vertices so that the water tight mesh closely follows the input mesh.

Here, we propose an alternative smoothing method based on gaussian processes (gp) regression for single subjects fmri experiments. this method adapts the level of smoothing on a voxel by voxel basis according to the characteristics of the local neural activity patterns. One thing which might work for you is loading the data in voxelplugin for unreal (but you need the paid version for import) and then apply some smoothing operations.
