In april 2021, 8 hubs were launched across the country following a competitive grant process. regional universities lead 7 of the hubs and a grower group alliance leads the eighth. hubs are made up of various stakeholders. they include industry, researchers, farmers, and community groups. A project to establish tree survival signatures for water stress in orchards is one of only five nationally to receive funding in round two of the future drought fund (fdf) long term trials of drought resilient farming practices program.
