Provider Interface The unimentor program at uwa connects new students with experienced students to support a smooth transition into university life. designed to help newcomers feel welcomed and informed, the program offers personalised, peer to peer guidance during the first semester. Students who are new to uwa are encouraged to join the unimentor program where you can connect with your peers and be matched with a student mentor to guide you through your first few weeks at university.
Provider Interface The program is for a minimum of a quarter, but can be extended for up to a year if mutually agreed by student and mentor. the program is not merely a source for an informational interview, but rather an opportunity to create and foster relationships for the academic quarter and beyond. You will be matched with a uwa student whose career interest and course match your skills and expertise. as an experienced professional, you can use your skills to support, guide and encourage uwa students. The program encourages students to explore their career goals, gain insight into industry expectations, and build professional confidence, while mentors share their expertise, guidance, and support in helping students navigate their career journey. This guidebook will outline the programme, where mentoring fits in, how to make your mentoring relationship work and what the students expect from it. it will also act as your guide for content and assessment.

Each mentoring relationship is unique between the clinician and student, however based on feedback from other clinical mentors there are some suggestions below to help the mentoring process flourish:. Uwa career mentor link is a six month mentoring program (may–october) that connects industry professionals (mentors) with uwa students (mentees). you will be matched with a student whose career interests and course align with your skills and expertise. The unimentor program will match you with a small group of new students (mentees) to help them settle into university life by sharing advice, offering support, and fostering a sense of belonging within the uwa community. The elective report (appendix 3) is to be sent to your clinical mentor you may subsequently wish to meet with your mentor to discuss the elective and your report, but your mentor needs to complete the medical student elective report mentor review form.
