Updating Ma2 Network R Lightingdesign
Updating Ma2 Network R Lightingdesign I have never run an update over a network before, so i'm doing some research on it. i'm asking if anyone has any tips above and beyond what the standard procedure from act has to say. For more information see adding devices to your session. important: the keyword networknodeupdate is only used for the ma nodes of the grandma1 series. to update the xport nodes of the grandma2 series use the keyword updatesoftware or see update via setup.
Updating Ma2 Network R Lightingdesign You can update the firmware of the ma network switch by using a grandma2 console or grandma2 onpc. the current firmware is displayed at the bottom right corner at the front end display of the ma network switch, in the ma network configuration window, and in the web interface. Start a session on onpc and make sure you have a blue heart icon in the message center on the command line. then, in ma network config menu make sure the npu is present in the npu tab. select "session member" field and make sure it says yes. Extract the software onto an empty usb stick with the node off, plug in the usb stick, turn on. it will ask you to press the menu button to update, then again if you want to format the hard drive on the node. if yes, press again. wait, it will update, and reboot. remove usb and you are set. Unpack the device. install mini gbic (sfp) installation in a rack. connect the hardware. set the ip address on the pc. access the web interface. display navigation. groups view. name view. workload view. lag view. reset view. ports groups. change port description. assign groups to ports. edit lags. edit rstp. edit speed setting.

I am running two ma2 on pc consoles for this tour and a command wing and fader hooked up to a laptop backstage. they are all running to an ma2 npu backstage and then breaking out from there. i was wondering, though, if i could hook up all three consoles so that they are networked. I did a gig recently that included a couple ma2 consoles, an ma3 node and an ma3 npu. reconfiguring the ip of the nodes and npus requires an additional laptop (no dial to do on the actual hardware), and we thought we were in trouble when the ip ranges didn't match. Here you will find all files ma offers for downloading free of charge. simply select the device series you need on the left. looking for older software versions? click on “software release notes”, scroll down, click on archive. A firmware update that brings the console up to the newest version of ma2 will include the most up to date fixture library, instructions on how to update are on the ma2 homepage. also fixture share has some custom profiles for the newer stuff.
