Unicast Flooding Cisco Community My general question is how is it possible that the standby hsrp router gets the return path traffic and is allowed to unicast flood toward the access layer in this topology?. If l2 flows can happen such that switch doesn't see flow in both directions, switch will unicast flood. one possible solution, might be to bond to the same physical or logical switch but on different hardware ports.
Unicast Flooding Issue Cisco Community We are experiencing a lot of unicast flooding during peek time at work and i'm having a hard time finding where it comes from. here's our design : we have 8 stacks of access switches c2960x connected to our distribution 2x nexus 5k in vpc. One possible hardware performance issue that flooding might cause, the switch has to replicate the packet to multiple ports. depending on the switch architecture, this might cause some issues.
