Welcome To Unnext Unnext Wider deployment of sustainable smart transport systems in asia and the pacific and development and implementation of the roadmap, smart transport policy & strategies;. To strengthen sustainable transport connectivity by collecting and disseminating best practices in the development of green and resilient road infrastructure along the asian highway network. The regional action programme (rap) for sustainable transport development in asia and the pacific (2022–2026) was adopted at the fourth ministerial conference on transport, held in bangkok and online in december 2021. This report provides scenarios for future transport demand and co2 emissions in southeast asia up to 2050 to help decision makers chart pathways to sustainable, resilient transport. the scenarios reflect existing policy initiatives and specific constraints in the region.

The new regional action programme on sustainable transport development in asia and the pacific (2022 2026), which was adopted by the ministerial conference on transport held from 14 to 17 december 2021, is centered around seven priority areas of work under three overarching objectives. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution through low carbon technologies, mode shifts, alternative fuels and route optimization, sustainable passenger and freight transport can mitigate the climate change impact (goal 13), while improving public health (goal 3) at the same time. There is a significant need for commonly used evidence based digital tool to identify the current state of the transportation network, keep track of missing links, and improve transportation connectivity along the asian highway, trans asian railway, and dry port networks. The economic and social commission for asia and the pacific serves as the united nations’ regional hub promoting cooperation among countries to achieve inclusive and sustainable development. it is the largest regional intergovernmental platform with 53 member states and 9 associate members.
