Unable To Read A Specific Leaf Root Root Forum I am trying to read the contents of a leaf in a ttree using python. the tree structure is shown in the screenshot. i am attaching my code (minus preamble) below: infile = "caltest.root" print ("parsing from root: star…. I am trying to extract information from a root file using pyroot. i tried using the usual getbranch, getleaf, getvalue but it does not work as usual, so i tried alternatives.

Root Forum Although the usecase in the reproducer is solved by using "x" instead of "x.x", the usecase in the original report on the forum has a branch name different from the leafname so the longer spelling must be used. Faster to read the full entry does not have to be read each time slower to write due to the large number of buffers. Expressions containing boolean operators have a specific icon and may be dragged to the active cut (scissors item) position. the expression editor can be activated by double clicking empty expression, using from the selected expression context menu or using menu. I checked another tree (call it tree2) produced a long time ago (with a version of the code that doesn’t exist so i can’t compare, but it should be effectively the same). tree2 should have identical gamma data to tree1 which is the only relevant part for this analysis. it appears to me like it does, scanning some hundreds of entries. but running the subsequent programs on tree2, they work.
