Trap 2024 Review It S Josh Hartnett S World We Re Just Living In It Josh hartnett stars in the latest disappointing thriller from the director of the sixth sense. one goes to an m. night shyamalan movie wanting to love it. Trap review: this is m night shyamalan – where’s the twist? if you’ve seen the trailer for trap, you’ll know that m night shyamalan ’s action thriller has a wonderfully simple premise:. M. night shyamalan's trap is a b movie that makes no apology about its ambitions or lack thereof… the elevator pitch for trap is rather irresistible – imagine the silence of the lambs set inside a taylor swift concert. On one level, shyamalan feels more comfortable than ever; trap may cook more purely and entertainingly than anything in his last decade of self styled pop hits. but it also suggests that there are discordant notes that he can’t, and probably shouldn’t, ever get out of his system.

This latest film makes itself distinct by being a more fun, thrilling version of the same story. the family drama is there for cooper and riley, but the first half of trap zips along quickly, leaving less room for you to think about many of the filmmaking decisions. It’s a problem when you rule at ideas and stink at stories, and yet again “trap” finds m. night shyamalan demonstrating his skills while falling into self made holes of nonsense. A hybrid between a concert film and a mystery thriller, “trap” is about cooper (josh hartnett) and his daughter riley (ariel donoghue) attending a concert for pop star lady raven (saleka shyamalan).
