Trauma, orthopaedic and emergency trials in children collaborative. the tots group is made up of surgeons from the british society for children's orthopaedic surgery and emergency medicine clinicians from the paediatric emergency research in the uk and ireland (peruki) collaborative.

Tots Study Two parents have joined our team to help us make the study procedures right for patients, and the group of parents we spoke to have agreed to provide further feedback if needed. This study will look at whether treating without a cast is an appropriate alternative in terms of pain, convenience for the child and family, and value for money to the nhs. This study is supported by the nihr and overseen by sheffield children’s hospital, with research conducted by a team from the university of sheffield. this study is funded by the national institute for health and care research, health technology assessment (nihr hta) programme. If you would like your child to take part in the tots study, and they meet all criteria to take part, your doctor or nurse will ask you to complete a simple questionnaire which asks you five questions to get an idea of their pain.
