In 2023, filmtoledo partnered with the city of toledo and was recognized as the official film commission for the northwest ohio region. this partnership also led to the commission being recognized by the ohio film office.

Filmtoledo harbors an ever expanding network to unite talent and draw bigger productions to the city. the next meetup in the commission's workshop series will tackle the topic of screenwriting with the glass city screenwriters from 6 8 p.m. at the toledo lucas county library main branch downtown. Over the past decade, toledo has grown by leaps and bounds. our unique lakeside location, beautiful historical landmarks and revitalized downtown region offer countless new opportunities for film locations and productions. Our hard working staff runs the day to day operations for filmtoledo, including location scouting, hosting film screenings and workshops, and networking at film events throughout the state of ohio. filmtoledo is committed to representing the diversity of both the film industry and our region. “we’re excited to help bring a large scale film project here, showcase the beautiful hollywood casino and riverfront, and bring direct economic impact to our region,” writes michael desanto, executive director of filmtoledo. additional scenes are being filmed in cleveland, oh and sandusky, oh.
