The university of washington has so much to offer, it can be hard for students to know where to start. we asked ten recent arts & sciences alumni for advice on making the most of the uw, and they had plenty of suggestions about academics, campus life, and a productive mindset. As a first year student, you will be presented with many new challenges and opportunities at the uw. sometimes, the infinite number of paths you can take can feel overwhelming. your first year will be spent developing the skills and knowledge that will serve as the foundation for your undergraduate education. Undergraduate courses are currently divided broadly into three categories: arts and humanities; social sciences; and the natural sciences. each student must select at least 20 credits in courses from each of the three fields and an additional 15 credits from any courses in the three fields. Join arts and sciences faculty, staff and students to explore programs and special opportunities available to students at the uw. this one day event is hosted by the uw office of admission.
