About Living Hiv Living The youthwise project’s overall aim is that adolescent and young people living with hiv (ayplhiv), in all their diversity, are able to practise self care and fulfil their srhr and hiv needs, in a supportive and respectful environment. The joint united nations programme on hiv aids (unaids) leads and inspires the world to achieve its shared vision of zero new hiv infections, zero discrimination and zero aids related deaths. Unaids unites the efforts of 11 un organizations—unhcr, unicef, wfp, undp, unfpa, unodc, un women, ilo, unesco, who and the world bank—and works closely with global and national partners towards ending the aids epidemic by 2030 as part of the sustainable development goals. How did y begin? it all began in 2004, when they realised the need to connect young people living with hiv (yplhiv) to each other, as well as to global decision making spaces.

Founded in 1988, the international aids society (ias) is the world’s largest association of hiv professionals, with members from more than 170 countries. ias convenes, educates, and advocates for a world in which hiv no longer presents a threat to public health and individual well being. Concerned by the stalling of progress for children, and the widening gap between children and adults, unaids, unicef, who and partners have brought together a global alliance to ensure that no child living with hiv is denied treatment by the end of the decade and to prevent new infant hiv infections.
